John Pinkerton started his love for the fantasy and horror genre back with his first viewing of the Universal classic "Frankenstein". This eventually led into a more how did they do that phase that brought John closer to the art of sculpting and drawing.
The early 90's led to a variety of jobs revolving around the movie industry. Johns first professional job was makeup assistant on a B budget film named "the Sandman" directed by Jr. Bookwalter (Dead Next Door). His work was noticed by director Ron Bonk (Salt City Productions) and a lasting friendship was formed. Johns credits include "Vicious Sweet" "Gut Pile" "Strawberry Estes" "The Red Files". Many of these featured in Fangoria magazine. The movie work also led to becoming the chief artist on the Batman Stunt shows for the Six Flags amusement parks under the guidance of Scott Gamble Studios.
John turned his sculpting talents towards the Garage Kit genre in 1998 when he was contracted to do an original alien bust for a fledgling company. The company never came to be and this prompted John to start "Pinkerton FX". John's work has been featured in numerous model kit, toy/collectibles and horror magazines.
Pinkerton FX specializes in professional sculpting, toy design, painting and makeup effects. John's plans for Pinkerton FX are to always maintain the highest quality of craftsmanship and artistry, keep my work open for new things and to keep it fun!
Enjoy!
